A video created by a 1PStart.com user demonstrates the new dashboard features Live users will be receiving in the near future in the upcoming April '07 update.
A list of the features is as follows:
- Live users will be able to add up to 600 MSN contacts to their friends list and chat with them via text messaging. Voice chat is still a work in progress, but six users will be able to communicate simultaneously while watching movies or playing a game.
- The XBL Marketplace will now have its own dashboard blade, complete with its own independent theme that will vary between promotions for DLC, holidays, and seasons.
- Upon obtaining an achievement in a title, the exact achievement you've unlocked and the points awarded to you will be displayed on screen.
- The 360 will now have the ability to download your desired content overnight in a mode that will turn off the fans of the console, only using minimal power
to complete your list of downloads. After it's through storing that last television episode or multiplayer map, it'll automatically power off.
Overall, this update seems to be well worth the wait, as it adds more functionality that will surely make things a bit more convenient for 360 owners.
